Regatta Schedule for the Competitive and Jr. Competitive teams

  • March 28 - Local scrimmage (either Lake Higgins or Oak Hollow Lake)

  • April 4th - Clemson Sprints Regatta in Celmson, SC (all rowers)

  • April 24-26 - Dogwood Jr Championships in Oak Ridge, TN (Competitive Team only)

  • May 9-10 - Southeast Regionals in Sarasota, FL(Competitive Team only)

  • May 16 - Bugsy Springs in Elizabeth City, NC (all rowers)

  • May 17 - Spring Banquet at Lake Higgins in the evening

  • June 11-14 - Youth Nationals in Sarasota, FL (qualified crews)

Jr Competitive Team

Be part of a fun environment with a focus on skill acquisition and learning the fundamentals of rowing. The Jr Comp team is coed and open to middle and high school athletes. No rowing experience is necessary, we just ask that you come with a positive attitude and remain eager to learn.

Rowers are not expected to race at every regatta and scrimmage, please come to as many events as possible.

Competitive Team

We have an amazing group of rowers and families.

Our team is coed and made up of high schoolers from many schools in the Piedmont. Practices are Monday - Thursday. Monday is indoors and Tues - Thursday are at lake Higgins with an optional Friday practice at the lake on non-regatta weekends. The team travels to regattas throughout the southeast.

  • Rowers are expected to be at practice and attend regattas

    • If you can’t make at least 3 out of the 4 practices during the week, please register for jr comp for the season

    • If you need to miss more than one regatta during the season, please talk with a coach and see which program is the best fit for you

Regatta Details

There are additional regatta expenses in addition to registration for the season. Scrimmages we host or travel to are usually around $10 - $20 per person, regattas with official registrations through RegattaCentral tend to be around $100 per rower, and USRowing championship regattas (regionals or nationals) have been in the range of $150-180 per rower. This additional cost covers the entry fees for each race, and the fuel to trailer the boats back and forth. The links provided will show how the cost to enter a boat ranges between events.
