Teams and Practice Days

We’ll have three teams this fall, please register for what you can commit to. Our teams are designed to allow rowers to practice, train, and compete with athletes who are committed at the same level.

  • Jr Comp Team

    • Tuesday - Thursday (come when you can)

  • Comp Team

    • Monday - Thurs (need to attend 3 out of 4 practices weekly)

  • Performance Team

    • Monday - Friday (rowers expected to be at all practices and regattas)

  • October 10-11 - Secret City - Oak Ridge, TN (all teams)

  • October 16-18 - Head of Charles - Boston, MA (Performance Team, if boats are accepted from lottery)

  • October 24-25 - Head of Schuylkill, PA (Performance Team)

  • November 7-8 Head of Hooch (Comp / Performance Teams)

  • November 14 - Head of the South (All teams)

Jr Competitive Team

Be part of a fun environment with a focus on skill acquisition. Rowers who are interested, have the opportunity to participate in several regattas. All practices will take place at Lake Higgins. The junior comp team is coed and open to rising 7th graders through 12 grade.

Competitive Team

We have an amazing group of rowers and families. Our team is coed and comprised of High Schoolers. Practices are at Lake Higgins Monday - Thursday (indoors Monday, at the lake Tues-Thurs). The team travels to regattas throughout the southeast.

Practice Days

Monday - Thursday

  • Rowers need to attend at least 3 out of 4 practices a week and miss no more than one regatta per season, if you’re unable to commit to the schedule, please discuss your situation with a coach and consider joining the Jr. Comp team.

Regatta Details

There are additional regatta expenses in addition to registration for the season. Scrimmages we travel to are usually around $20 per person, regattas with official registrations through RegattaCentral tend to be $75-100 per rower, and USRowing championship regattas (regionals or nationals) have been in the range of $100-180 per rower. This additional cost covers the entry fees for each race and the fuel to trailer the boats back and forth. The links provided will show how the cost to enter a boat ranges between events. The two links above show how a double goes from $45 to $140 per entry.
