Learn the FUNdamentals - no experience necessary
Our Beginner Class consists of four practices in one month and provides all the essentials you need to have a great first experience with this life-long sport.
Participants learn basic rowing technique and boat management on and off the water. Plan to experience the community aspect of this sport as you work together with your team. Completing the beginner class opens the door to join our experienced team and continue this great sport.

Active for Life
Our experienced rowers sign up on a monthly basis. Rowing with this group does not require you to be an olympic athlete, we’ve just found it best to place people in boats with folks who have a similar level of experience. If you’ve rowed in the past, we’d love you to join. If this is your first time trying the sport, check out our beginner adult class.
90% of the rowing we do on Lake Higgins is in sculling boats where each rower has two oars, eliminating the need for a coxswain and giving everyone the opportunity to row at each practice. Sessions are 90-minute in total, allowing time for launching and docking boats while still getting a great workout. Rowers will be on the water for 60 minutes, coached on technique, and given a fun low impact workout.
